Topic
It was the last days. It was a day of small things. It was the epoch before the first coming of the Messiah.
In short, it was a day very much like our own day. The age of the Kings had come and gone, the nation had been taken into exile, and a remnant had returned in three stages. Now, Jerusalem stood complete, the Temple in operation, and the returned captives had been brought together as a united Ecclesia under their latest reformer, Nehemiah.
But Nehemiah had been recalled to the court of Persia, and now the time of waiting had begun. Before he left, he had brought the nation into a covenant of commitment to their God, and one day he would return to find out how they had fared in his absence. Everyone said they looked forward to the return of their Governor. But the question was, what would he find on his return?
When Nehemiah returned from Persia, he would do so as 'The Messenger of the Covenant,' sent by God to find out whether they had remained true to the promises they had made to their God.
To prepare them for his coming, God sent another man with his own message of warning and preparation - the last of the Old Testament prophets. It is his message that we will consider at Wilderness Camp 2026, God willing, as 2500 years later, the prophet Malachi prepares us for the second coming of the Messiah.
Camp Preparation
Wilderness Camp involves a personal commitment by each attendee to study Malachi. Your preparation will be aided by three workshops, together with the Camp Notes and other supplied study resources. The camp itself will be structured around interactive workshops and discussion groups rather than a series of talks, so the success of the camp relies upon the preparation of each attendee.
Our aim is to provide a supportive and encouraging framework to help all young people feel inspired to study the Word, and to that end each attendee will be involved in an engaging program of preparatory activities. All the essential study resources can be found on the Study Resources page.

Mentor Sessions Replacement
This year we are substituting the Mentor Sessions with two optional online Study Sessions facilitated by Bro Tony Lines. These are designed to help you meet your study goals, provide support for any questions you may come across in your study and are an extra resource for those who would like to be involved.

What does this mean for me?
As an attendee at Wilderness Camp, you are expected to:
-
Attend the Prep Workshops (they will be accessible online for interstate/overseas attendees).
-
Study Malachi using the Camp Notes, as well as any other materials you may like to use.
-
Complete the study resources marked Essential on the Study Resources page.
-
Mark your study into your Bible before the camp.
This is intended to be an achievable and rewarding study and we trust you will find it a very reasonable goal if you put time aside regularly for your study. We request that you complete your study if you would like to attend the camp. Please get in touch with us early if you would like any assistance planning how you can complete the study.
